Photo Diary | Pulau Langkawi ♡

Well, this is awkward. I feel like it's been forever since the last time I write something that is not related to beauty. These days, I don't feel the need of writing personal thoughts or any blog post related to my daily life. Dah tua katanya... My mundane life isn't fantastically amazing to begin with and you know, interesting things don't just happen every day.

Last month was different though as I visited Langkawi for a family trip (rare occasion!). I intended to blog about it as early as the second week of November and now we're nearing to the end of 2016~ talking about procrastination... 😋. Our short, 2 days vacation to the island was not planned at all and it was indeed a quite spontaneous last minute reaction to "alang-alang dah kat Perlis" for my brother's graduation.

Review + Ingredient Analysis | Guardian Sun Protection Body Lotion

It's been the same old sentence, but just in case this is the first time you dropped by my blog, I want to tell you that sunscreen is extremely important. It's my number one skincare product, and it should be yours too. In the past, I've talked about 3 sunscreens from different brands, and I'm glad to leave you with the links: [here], [here] and [here].

This time around, let's talk about body sunscreen. I got one from Guardian. Guardian is a pharmacy not just in Malaysia but several other countries too. They do have their own in-house skincare products that are mostly affordable and cheaper than mainstream brands. For example, this Guardian Sun Protection Body Lotion is only retailed at RM26.90 (around $7).

Review + Ingredient Analysis | L'Occitane Angelica Hydra Vital Face Toner

I picked this up a while back together with the moisturiser from the same line. I couldn't remember how much it cost, and I can't seem to find this product on L'occitane Malaysia web store anymore which makes me think that the toner is being discontinued. It really took me that long though to start on using this toner because I have had my favourite. Recently I rediscovered the bottle again inside my skincare drawer and thought of using before it approaching its expiration date.

Homemade Guacamole Dip and The Science of Enzymatic Browning

To those who are not familiar with Guacamole, it's a traditional Mexican dip or salad made with ripe avocados and usually served with chips. At least here in Malaysia, Guacamole is not something that you can get easily. We don't grow avocado trees, and the fruit itself is foreign hence can be expensive.

Review | Mamonde Rose Water Toner

These days, I've been going through a serious phase of embracing Asian beauty products, especially from Japan and South Korea. I'm totally stepping up on my "korean-inspired skincare routine" game and by now I've been doing it for almost a year. So, today I have a review of a toner that is quite long overdue given at how much I've worn it in the past months. It's from Mamonde, a brand that is currently being endorsed by South Korea's popular actress, Park Shin Hye. Although 'Mamonde' is a word originated from French (Ma= I, Monde= The World), let's us learn how to pronounce the brand name just like the Korean does!!

In hangul Mamonde is written as;
마몽드 = 마(ma) → 몽(mong) → 드(due), and the korean way of saying it, is "ma-mon-duh", the 'duh' is more like 'the' sound not 'DUHHH'. The brand is under Amorepacific, that housed a lot of other popular k-beauty brands such as Etude House, Innisfree, Laneige, and IOPE. My interest towards their well-raved Rose Water Toner mostly sparked after seeing Sunnydayhe talking about it on Youtube.

Review | Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palette

Hi guys! Long time no see. Few months ago I posted an Instagram post about a new blush palette that caught my eye when I was shopping at Guardian. The palette is called as "Blush Artist Shading Palette" and it's a part of "Catrice It Pieces Spring & Summer 2016 Collection". While the international launch date was set back in January, I've only gotten to see some of their new products here starting in July.

Having to use it for quite a while now, almost 4 months to be exact, I'm here and ready to share with you guys all of my thoughts, so read more after the jump!

A Yubiso Haul

I don't know about you guys but I love value stores like Daiso, Kaison, Yubiso and MR DIY because they satisfy the urge to shop without destroying my budget. I'm okay with anything I buy from them since most of the items are of high quality despite being cheap. Think of something you can get from a Dollar Tree store, they're practically the same. So, recently I made a visit to a newly opened Yubiso store near me and found out few cool things.

Brand Focus | Ada Apa Dengan COSRX?

If you're into korean beauty, COSRX really needs no introduction. This brand has made quite the name for itself especially among redditors in Asian Beauty community. It is said to be more popular among Westerners rather than netizens of its own land. I kinda have to agree with this because I've noticed that some of the korean beauty vloggers on Youtube only started mentioning about COSRX recently.

As someone who's also riding the COSRX boat and been loving it so far, I thought I would share with you guys more about the brand as in what are my thoughts, how did I first found out about it, products I'm currently using and also where to get them. This is one of those blog posts where I decided to write it in more santai way a.k.a not the typical English reviews like I always do. I'm going to throw in a lot of Malay words here without them being italic.

Review | Sunkiller Perfect Water Essence SPF50+

I'm looooooong overdue for an update. The last time I wrote, I talked about a face cleanser from Simple, and that was around a month ago. It's now September, and before I proceed with my #11 empties, here's a review of the sunscreen that I've been loving lately.

Sunkiller Perfect Water Essence- a sunscreen that really does feel more like a moisturiser when it goes onto my skin. I like it for daily use. Originally I was going to buy another Korean brand sunscreen but most of them were nearing RM60 without a sale and I didn't really want to spend that much. So I tried to find something that was easy to get at our local pharmacies.

Review | Simple Skincare Kind To Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel

The Simple Kind To Skin range is aimed mainly for people with sensitive skin. I personally wouldn't say the cleanser is incredible. However, I confess that I have purchased maybe 4 to 5 tubes of it over the past years even though it's not one of my favourites. Let me tell you why.

Review | Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara

Hi.

Today I bring another review for Essence Cosmetic. In the past, I've talked briefly about their lipsticks, lip glosses and the highlighter. Essence is a pretty well-known brand, but for those of you who don't know, it's originated from German and it basically sells makeup at this very affordable price. I know this might sound a little bit of stereotyping, I do however have short, sparse and hella pin straight Asian lashes. I think I've mentioned about it on my blog before. So, whenever I choose a mascara, I always look for something that will hold a curl, able to give lengthening effect, and also volumizing.

So, right after Watsons Pharmacy, I went to Daiso with my sole mission was to find the "Puff and Sponge Detergent". I didn't get to see it anywhere, but sure I came out from Daiso with few other things since I figured that I still need my RM5.30 shopping therapy.

Rainbow Highlighter? IN2IT Got You Covered!

Hellooooo.

About few weeks ago a lot of popular Instagram beauty based account and beauty gurus on Youtube beginning to buy the rainbow highlighter (Prism) from Bitter Lace Beauty. It's the latest trend that takes the beauty world by storm and the hype is definitely real to the point that Prism is sold out instantly.

When it first came out on my Twitter timeline as a meme, I remember saying things like "oh, it's beautiful but why would you want these kind of shades as your highlight?" Of course, since most of the time we all find highlighters with silver, rose gold and gold undertones, but Prism right here all come with a spectrum of rainbow coloured.

Now you see WHO'S BUYING? hehe. Prism is expensive (RM90.95 per pan) and not readily available locally. However, if you still want to jump into the rainbow highlighter bandwagon, IN2IT offers almost a similar thing to Prism and it's already out there on shelves since 2014.

Review | IOPE Air Cushion XP in C23

Hi. Hi!!
It took me long enough to get this review out. I hauled the IOPE Air Cushion that I got from althea.kr in August 2015 but it was not until 4 months later I finally decided to use it. The reason was because I wanted to finish up using at least one of many liquid foundations I've own.

First thing first! I must admit I'm not someone who caught up with trends. I'm also someone who just recently got back in discovering k-beauty (....and it all started again after my trip to Seoul last winter). Buying my first cushion foundation was actually a bit hard. I got lost since there are a lot of brands to choose from. I thought of going for the popular ones, hence it was a between IOPE and Laneige and I ended up choosing the former because it has a lot of online positive reviews.

Acne Spot Treatment | A Review of Nixoderm Ointment

Hi guys, I'm back again with a skincare review. I first became interested in this locally made acne cream from the brand Nixoderm after Not A Haul mentioned about it on one of her Instagram posts. Acne and pimple aren't really my skin major concern and I've only ever used two spot treatments prior to this- Nuteen Acne Away Gel and Tea Tree Oil from The Bodyshop. I wouldn't say I have much expertise in treating this kind of skin problem, but I will review the Nixoderm Ointment to the best of my abilities.

Anyway, I found this fun beauty tag on the internet that I thought I would do since I feel like I want to take a little break from writing reviews. I try not to make this post too long, so here's the part I.

Review | Good Virtues Co. Brightening Facial Toner

This toner was pretty much of an impulse purchase I made earlier of the year simply because I was swayed by its packaging. It is from the brand Good Virtues Co., a halal certified brand owned by a local company called Satin Straits Snd. Bhd. They centred "Habbatus Sauda Oil" (Black Seed Oil) as their key ingredient. All of their products are claimed to be halal, vegetarian, cruelty-free, and free from alarming ingredients such as SLES, ALES, mineral oil, parabens as well as synthetic colourants.

The toner I have here is said to be a "Brightening Facial Toner". I don't think I've ever bought any brightening skincare before, so this is indeed my first experience with brightening product. So.... What it is? How it is marketed? Below is a graphic information taken from their official website.

Haul | The Mac & Estee Lauder Lipsticks

Last January, I went to Mitsui Outlet near KLIA, Sepang to buy some travelling stuff and I thought of checking out The Cosmetic Company Store (CCS), located at the ground floor. I was definitely curious to see what they had since I haven't been there for ages. CCS is a discounted store for brands owned by Estee Lauder like MAC, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Lab Series, and Origins. They have another store in Johor Premium Outlet (Read my post on JPO here) but that's going to take me at least 3-4 hours driving from Melaka to Kulai, Johor. Sepang is definitely much nearer to me.

Review | Mentholatum Organic Raspberry & Strawberry Lip Balm

Lip balms and chapped lips go together like peanut butter and jelly (or you know, better, pisang goreng and cheese lol). My lips get dry and cracked very easily no matter how many litres of water I drink throughout the day. So covering my lips with a balm or ointment is very important to me but finding it, is actually a harder task that it may initially seem.
