A Bookish Wrap-Up | Completing 2019 Goodreads Challenge in 5 Months
I love participating in the annual Goodreads Challenge. I started it in 2013 and continue to do so until the recent date. This year, despite being busy with daily life activities, I've been able to complete my 2019 Goodreads Challenge of reading 30 books and I'm quite proud of it since this is the largest number of books I've completed throughout these past years AND I finished it in May rather than December.
I wish the number of books had been higher but knowing myself for not being a consistent reader, I set a comparatively low goal since I would get stressed out if I wouldn't be able to complete the reading challenge or perhaps even worst, I'd probably push myself to read "cheat books" just to get the numbers up. Anyhow, I wasn't expecting to read this fast, in fact, again, I was doubtful about finishing 30 books in a year, which was also the reason why I originally set it as 15.
Hansaegee Nature Aloe AC Clean Bubble Cleanser
The face cleanser department in my skincare collection can sometimes be overlooked since cleanser isn't something I'd invest a lot of thoughts before purchasing any of them. Let it be affordable or expensive, drugstore or high-end, cleanser to me is merely just a cleanser; something that will stay on my face for 2-3 minutes before going down the drain.
Review + Ingredient Analysis | Sanny & Joleen Lifestyle Antioxidant Serum
If you follow me on my Instagram for beauty content, you may already know that recently I've included a Malaysian-made skincare serum into my routine. This is not a first-time experience of me using a local product because I've used a couple of them in the past (mostly from the brand House of Healin that's known for their gamat/sea cucumber skincare product). Do I use any local skincare product in recent years? I don't, merely because I have gotten surrounded by Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese brands that are easily available almost everywhere. But, that doesn't mean that I need to stop supporting and featuring brands that come from my homeland; 100% made and founded in Malaysia.
CANMAKE Mermaid Skin Gel UV
My ever-glowing sunscreen collection has welcomed a significant amount of new products in the past couple of months or so. Most are new while some of those are re-purchase for various reasons. CANMAKE Mermaid Skin Gel UV is a product I'd straight away put it into my shopping basket whenever Guardian Malaysia is having their 50% cosmetics sale. Lucky enough, Guardian (and Canmake) has categorised this as base makeup, hence never place it together with sunscreen from other brands. You can find this often on top of the CANMAKE shelf itself.
Review + Ingredient Analysis | Dr. G Green Mild Up Sun
One of the biggest gripes with mineral based sunscreen is the amount of time it can take to apply, thanks to its rich, often tacky texture. It would leave a significant amount of white cast if it's not being blended properly and this is due to the nature of inorganic filters formulated inside; Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun is one of the very few sunscreens out there that doesn't contain any chemical UV filters but it's still cosmetically elegant, suitable to be used under a lot of foundations. It's really good and I'm calling it my current HG.
