RM8 DIY Brush Holder!

Hi guys! I couldn't remember when was the last time I posted a DIY blog post but I have one for you this week. I have seen this DIY brush holder on many beauty blogs and finally decided to try it myself.

I think everyone that have Real Techniques brushes for more than 2 years might face the same problem as mine - the black rubber holder of the brush become terribly sticky to the point other brushes will stick with it. This little trick saved my brand new brushes from looking worn because of the glue.

As always, I went to Mr DIY store to look around and stumbled upon this hari raya jar, haha. The one our mums always put kacang or muruku inside. I thought this would be the perfect size to store my small brushes. RM5.50 for a glass jar, so cheap!

For the beads, I used..

river stones / gravels!! (MR DIY - RM2.30)
Can you tell already Mr DIY is my favourite crafting store?

Using small river stones wasn't my original plan, but since I couldn't find any vase filters I thought these worked just well. I'm pleased to say that this jar still looks great as a decoration or as a brush holder!

You don't have to use small river stones like I did. It is very versatile! you could use micro beads, marbles, coffee beans, acrylic gems, vase filters, whatever you think would do the trick.

Initially these were colourful river stones until I decided to paint them in turquoise.

Tip - Use a food sealer bag. Pour some paint inside it, and shake the bag. Let the stones completely dried before going for another coat.

Very simple and easy DIY, I hope you liked it. If you decide to take a crack at this, be sure to post a photo of your finished product in the comments or post a link, I would love to see your version! :D

P/S - I watched Kingsman: The Secret Service yesterday and it was sooooooo so so good! Ah, I really want to watch it again! (≚á„Œ≚)

Thank you! I was looking to buy some acrylic beads like the one they have in Sephora, but it was so hard to find! Small river stones came in handy~ :D

This is such a good idea :) I currently have my brushes in a mason jar, but I think it's time for a new jar. I might just have to do this! I love how you painted the stones. <3
