Hansaegee Nature Aloe AC Clean Bubble Cleanser

The face cleanser department in my skincare collection can sometimes be overlooked since cleanser isn't something I'd invest a lot of thoughts before purchasing any of them. Let it be affordable or expensive, drugstore or high-end, cleanser to me is merely just a cleanser; something that will stay on my face for 2-3 minutes before going down the drain.
I used to be quite firm in the past when choosing a face cleanser where it has to be low in pH for my everyday use but these days, I wouldn't use the alkaline ones as long as it's gentle and not stripping. I only use it at night since I'd need something 'strong' to successfully remove leftover residue from the cleansing balm. Several low pH cleansers I've tried before would leave me a slimy film that could barely wash off by hands.

Nevertheless, I won't deny the fact there are a lot of studies done before in the past years associating a slightly acidic cleanser would bring great benefits in protecting our skin epidermal barrier. Our skin has acid mantel on it and the acid mantle is important for blocking germs, toxins, bacteria and pollution. Previous studies also have shown how our skin's pH would increase as simple as washing our face with tap water. If you have the access, I'd recommend you to read this recent 2018 published journal on the relationship between pH and skin cleansing [DOI: 10.1159/000489527]. In my previous cleanser review, I've also linked you guys to [this] study where it says; "no conclusions could be made on the effect of cleansing products on the skin surface pH" referring to how inconsistent the parameters and results can be in these pH and skin studies.

Hansaegee Nature Aloe CC Clean Bubble Cleanser is slightly above the natural pH, clocking between 7 and 8. It's not as alkaline as the previous AQUTOP cleanser I've reviewed before nor it's low in pH as my current morning AM cleanser from Innisfree, pH 5.5. And since this is a bubble cleanser where the foam comes out from its dispenser, you don't need to add water to emulsifies it, so the pH stays the same at 7-8. Do take note that a lot of cream type cleanser will rise in pH as soon as you added water to it.

I know it's little weird starting out my review with the pH value itself, but at least now you know my stand and what I'm looking for when choosing a face cleanser and the criteria remain the same for almost 2 years now. I'm glad Hansaegee Nature trusted me to review more products from the brand and so far all of them are manufactured in South Korea, so I'd consider this as 'AB Beauty'.

Verdicts
1) Hansaegeee Nature Aloe AC Clean Bubble Cleanser is an alcohol-free product and the key ingredients in this seem to be Aloe Vera Juice, a couple of plant extractions for a soothing effect, glycerin for moisturising and preventing the cleaner from drying out the skin and Tea Tree Leaf Oil for anti-acne. Both Tea Tree Leaf Oil and Rosemary extract are known to have an antimicrobial and antibacterial effect. The surfactants used in this product is Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate and Sodium Lauroyl Aspartate. The first surfactant is known to be mild to the skin and also foams a lot. According to Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Report, the maximum amount of this ingredient that can be used in face cleanser is 12%. I noticed a lot of Korean based Bubble Cleansers used amino acid amides as their foaming agent; for example; this Hansaegee Nature Aloe AC Clean is similar to A'Pieu Deep Clean Bubble Foam Cleanser whereby both of them are using Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate. Yadah Anti-T Bubble Cleanser is using TEA-Cocoyl Glutamate while Etude House Soon Jung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser is using Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate as their main surfactant.

I will admit it right away, I'm not fond of the number of plant extractions inside the formulation. It appears to be A LOT as shown in the picture above. Tea Tree Leaf Oil extraction is good for treating acne skin since it has disinfection property but the amount used in this cleanser is too tiny to do such effect on the skin. Plus, a cleanser is something you will wash off from your face after several minutes, all the possible active ingredients inside the cleanser will possibly be away too after cleanse. For this Hansaegee Nature Cleanser, minus all the plant extraction, the ingredients seem to be rather, simple (in a good way).

Then again, regardless of whatever ingredients being put inside a cleanser, I should worry them the least since, again, it's a cleanser 🤷‍♀️. If you want a product that would truly transform your skin into a better condition, you should look further into other skincare categories such as moisturiser and serum. Cleanser to me is only a basic step.

2) It takes only a pump or two sized amount of the cleanser per application, enough to wash a whole face of mine. The yellow-ish liquid formula bursts into a rich but lightweight lather after it's dispersed through its special pump. Bold of me to think that the product is originally in lather form inside the bottle and clearly, I was wrong. The liquid inside makes the bottle feels heavy, plus the packaging seems to be quite bulky. It's suitable to store such a high amount of liquid inside (150ml) but I would say it's not suitable for travelling, especially if you want to pack light. I love how the pump has some texture engraved onto it to prevent our hands from slippering.

3) The scent. Hansaegee Nature does use a synthetic fragrance in this cleanser but it also has a lot of plant extractions formulated in it that are able to give out natural fragrances. Aloe AC Clean Bubble Cleanser has a citrusy scent. I appreciate the fact that it doesn't make my nose feel sensitive that would lead me to sneeze.

4) Duration of usage, Routine and Result.
I have been using this cleanser regularly during my nighttime routine for almost a month now, I notice there's still a huge amount of liquid cleanser inside the bottle. I didn't realise a bubble cleanser can save me a lot. I use this as a part of my double cleanse;
First Cleanser: Senka Cleansing Oil
Second Cleanser: Hansaegee Nature ALOE AC Clean Bubble Cleanser

So how does it feel on the skin?
Refreshing? Yes.
Comfortable? Yes.
Moisturising and not drying out the skin? Also Yes.
Since the pH is slightly above 7, one might have an initial impression that it will dry out the skin. Not! to my surprise, my skin doesn't feel dry at all after using. It has this 'fresh-clean' feeling after I rinse off but it is never near the 'stripping and drying' way. Once rinsed, every trace of my makeup and cleansing oil are gone and my face feels good. I know this because I always swipe over Cosrx One Step Pimple Clear Pad to step up my cleansing routine. Often, if I'd to use a gentle cleanser, the pad will end up having a lot of makeup residue. For reviewing purpose, I've swatched a few makeup items on my hand to show the ability of this face cleanser in removing 90% of the makeup.

From Top to Bottom
- Cyber Colour Eyebrow Pen
- Cathy Doll x Disney Eyeliner
- Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
- Colourpop Lippie Stix
- Silky Girl Liquid Lipstick

All the swatches are almost gone except for the eyeliner from Cathy Doll. I personally think it's great since bubble cleanser is known to be gentle to skin. The idea behind a bubble cleanser is that you will spend less time emulsified it through your finger, or if you like me, rubbing the face cleanser directly onto the face. Less motion that creates friction between your hand and the face, the better!

I hope this was helpful. Have you tried any bubble cleanser before in your skincare routine?
