Fun Find | Spot Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes.

Find out what I use to spot clean my brushes everyday.

Overtime, makeup brushes can pick up all sorts of debris and bacteria. If you don't clean them, they may easily cause breakouts and skin irritation. I don't deep clean my brushes frequently like once a week or so because let me be honest, it can take a lot of times especially when you have a lot of brushes. However, spot cleaning can be done quickly each time after you apply your makeup.

Spot cleaning:
1) Purchase antibacterial wipes - I'm using Tesco Choice Disinfecting Wipes!
2) Swirl the brush against the wipes
3) Reshape the bristle and set aside to dry

As for me, I haven't had issues with the product so far and I've been using this technique almost everyday for approximately 1 year. Not only my brushes are still in good condition, I don't experienced any itchiness or irritation because of the product. So my guess having Alkylbenzydimenthylammonium Chloride as the only ingredient in this Tesco wipes is not really an issue. Don't be afraid of this long chemical name, it's basically just Benzalkonium Chloride which is commonly used in pharmaceutical and personal care products because of it's antiseptic property.

So yeah. You're disinfecting bacteria and your brushes are clean. Smart moves! In a way, spot cleaning is the short-cut to keep your makeup tools sanitized and free of pigments in within your deep cleaning routine. You can get the wipes from Tesco for RM9.00+ (35 sheets) and if you're not from Malaysia, I'm sure you can find anything similar to it, just look around at the house cleaning section in your store because there is where mine located. Hope you found this post helpful! :)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about cleaning brushes, hun!

Yes right, brushes needs not to be neglected cos it's the one where bacteria are most likely to breed too, so we need disinfecting and regular cleaning. Thumbs up :)

I do this too! Sometimes with make up wipes or with make up remover. It's easier and quicker.

Hahahahahah your comment on Sunggyu makes me laugh! I'm so glad that we are both Inspirits and beauty lovers. Haha. I'm pretty sure they have anything similar to this at your local store, or maybe you can use makeup wipes for spot cleaning :D :D

I never thought of washing my brushes with conditioner, but that makes sense since conditioner would soften the bristles! Thanks for sharing Honia!

I'd want to deep cleaning my brushes once a week, but I'm lazy lol and I'm a bit worried that over cleaning would break the bristles faster.. Thanks for commenting Amy! I'm sorry that I replied to this comment extremely late. Such a busy week I'm having here. >o<

Spot cleaning FTW ;P I like how I can see no more pigments on the brushes and their bristles return back to their original colouring. So satisfying!! Haha
