Review | Wet n Wild Color Icon Brow & Eye Liner Pencil

If you have been doing your weekly shopping at SASA stores lately you may have spotted some change in the cosmetic isle, and if you are a beauty buff, you would have heard of this famous US cosmetic brand - Wet n Wild. There were a lot of rumblings for the past months over my Instagram claiming that this brand is finally available in Malaysia shores.

People have been raving about stuffs from this brand because of good reasons - not only Wet n Wild makeups are affordable, they are also very good quality. If you are from Melaka, you can find Wet n Wild our DP's SASA. The selection of products we have over here isn't really overwhelming as the one in IOI Mall, but I think they are enough to cover most of the popular and well known items.

Not long ago, I got these Wet n Wild Color Icon Brow & Eye Liner Pencils for RM7.90 each instead of their original price of RM11.90 during SASA's End of The Year Sale Campaign. I decided to get 2 of colour that I thought would suit me the most - Taupe and Dark Brown. I looked up for more informations from Wet n Wild website, unfortunately they only state that this product is rich, creamy colour glides on smoothly without tugging, and it's also versatile.

So, are these true? Read more to find out!

Do that note that most of the time I'll be reviewing this as a brow pencil because that is the way I use it the most.

Packaging
Wet n Wild Color Icon is a basic wooden pencil with colour matched coating packaging. Wordings on it's packaging are printed in silver and they tend to fade quickly. The pencil itself is 18cm long, the longest pencil I've ever seen! This also means you're getting more product than many other brow pencils in the market. Color Icon pencil is not retractable and needs to be sharpen. Some may not prefer this as sharpening a pencil means you'll be getting product wastage.
Travel friendly? Maybe not when it's still long. It doesn't fit my current makeup bag.

Scent
none....or maybe the typical wooden eye pencil scent.

Application
This pencil is marked as multi-purpose, it can be used for both eye brow and eye liner. In term of the application, it is very smooth and softI prefer to use this product as an eyebrow pencil and I would suggest you to have a spoolie brush or brow comb to blend out the colour. As an eye liner, if you have oily eyelids like mine, this might slides and smudges on you.

Colour
Wet n Wild offers a total of 15 shades but I'm not sure how many exactly they have here in our department store. I have seen Taupe, Mink Brown, Dark Brown, Black Black, White, Green and Bronzed. The ones I have with me are Taupe and Dark Brown.
Taupe is a charcoal grey kind of colour and it suits my brows the most. I'm liking it because I feel like going with a lighter colour for brows could prevent them stealing all the attention from the rest of my face. Dark brown is way too dark for my preference.

Texture
Creamy but not as waxy as other brows pencils. Because of it's creaminess, I feel like this pencil needs to be sharpened more often. From my experiences, the product is transferable and it smudge easily if I accidentally touch my brows, so I always use a clear brow gel from Essence to set it.

Pigmentation
The colour payoff is surprisingly, strong! You might want to be careful if you're a heavy handed. However, compared to other eye liners that I'm currently owns like the one from Stilla and Etude Play 101, I find that Wet n Wild Color Icon Pencil has the least pigmentation.

Longevity
As an eyebrow pencil, it stays on me pretty decently but it doesn't last throughout a workday.

Overall, I'm only loving this as an eye brows pencil but not as eye liner. Although I'm not the one who is always filled my eyebrows, it's really amazing the different it makes when I have my them all nice and filled in. Example, like this;

HAHA. Mari gelak secara berjemaah.

I loveeee the colour 'Taupe' for my daily eyebrow routine as it gives the most natural finish. Again, for it's price, you'll be getting a good amount of product!

Thank You for reading this entry. I hope you guys have a nice weekend! Don't forget to tell me what's your favourite drugstore brows pencil so I could check it out! :)

Me too! Because sharpening can waste a lot of products! :( and the worst part of sharpening eye pencils is cleaning the sharpener! haha.

It's really been a while since the last time I put on black eye liner for my waterline! Wow, I just realized this. These days I prefer to use dark brown eye liners or eye shadows. :D

Thank you for visiting my blog! ♥
